New 2 year Warranty for Viewsat receivers!

Viewtech Inc, a California based free to air satellite company has announced today that they will be extending their warranty on all Viewsat receivers for an additional 1 year. This will give the consumer a 2 year warranty on all hardware.

Company executives have said that due to the exceptionally low defective rate with receivers, they are more then confident in the quality and workmanship in Viewsat receivers. Viewsat receivers like the Lite, Xtreme, Ultra and PVR are all made in Korea. Korea's quality is far superior to the quality produced by China or Taiwan.

NSS-8 Launch Failure

The launch of NSS-8 state of the art satellite from Sea Launch pad on Pacific Ocean ended in complete failure as Zenit-3SL launch vehicle exploded at start.

The NSS-8 Ku- and C-band satellite for Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent was originally destined to replace old NSS-703 at 57º East.

The total loss of the satellite means that NSS-703 will now remain at its original position until early 2009 when currently in construction NNS-9 replaces NSS-5 at 177° West and the latter can be relocated to 57º East...

Satellite & Broadband Expo 2007 West

What started as Satellite Expo in Memphis, Tennessee has now grown to one of the most respected industry events in the nation. The trade show, started as a vision has turned into a universal event, drawing exhibitors and attendees from around the world. Sirius Radios Won’t Be Obsolete After Merger

SIRIUS Satellite Radio, which recently announced plans to merge with XM Satellite Radio, has issued a guarantee to its more than 12 million listeners that existing radios will not become obsolete if the merger is approved.

SIRIUS unleashed a national print and retail advertising campaign, which sets forth the "SIRIUS Guarantee" in national and metropolitan publications. The guarantee says clearly that no SIRIUS radios will become obsolete as a result of a merger with XM. SIRIUS has millions of radios in the market, including many that are built into the vehicles manufactured by its automakers.

Customers who sign up now for SIRIUS will have their subscription rate honored by the merged company. As a merged company, SIRIUS expects to be able to offer even more flexibility in subscriptions and programming selection.

Viewsat Lite

This is the most basic entery level satellite receiver. It was developed for the South American market in early 2006 and then introduced to the North American market in late 2006 early 2007. The biggest difference between the Lite and its bigger brother the Viewsat Xtreme is that the Lite has no smart card reader, no component video ad no dolby digital audio output. BEsides those luxury features it is basically the same. The Viewsat Lite will pick-up and receive all the same satellites and channel as all other receivers. The picture quality is best when used with a S-video cable.
